Jags owner Wayne Weaver wants you, Orlando
If you read my column in today's Orlando Sentinel, you know Jacksonville Jaguars owner Wayne Weaver says his team may move some of its future regular-season games to Orlando.
In fact here's Weaver's direct quote: "There's certainly the possibility that we would play some out-of-market games. If it happened, Orlando would be the best option and most reasonable location. … In the past, we have reached out to try and cultivate that market and haven't had as much success as we would have liked. We probably need to do a better job. That's a given. We are looking at a long-term strategy and thinking out of the box on how we can build a fan base in Orlando."
Of course, for that to happen, Orlando would have to have a football stadium worthy of housing an NFL team and hosting the king of all professional sports league.
My question in today's wildly popular Open Mike poll is this: Should the city and county try to figure out a way to build a new stadium in hopes of attracting NFL games and possibly even an NFL team?
